Ebrahim Sheik, Co-Founder and Principal Head Teacher

Sheikh, Hafidh & Qari Ebrahim Sheik began his Islamic Studies in South Africa from a young age and qualified as Hafidh of Quran at the age of 12 years old. Following completion of his matriculation at the age of 17 he began his Islamic Studies for 2 years under Maulana Sayed Alimuddin Misbahi in South Africa. Amongst his studies he learnt languages such as Arabic, Urdu and Persian. Under the direction of his teacher, Sheikh Ebrahim travelled to MubarakPur in India and studied in Al Jamiatul Ashrafia University also known as Misbahul Uloom. Following 2 years at this institution he pursued further studies for another 2 and a half years in Jame Rizvia in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Sheikh Ebrahim was also blessed and honoured with an invitation to study for a year with his Eminence Sheikh Sayed Alawi Al Maliki of Mecca. On completion of the renowned Dastar e Fadila Aalim graduate course Sheikh Ebrahim pursued his tertiary education in Engineering in South Africa.

Sheikh Ebrahim studied at the University of Natal completing a degree in B.I.S, and attaining further certifications in MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) , CNA (Certified Novel Administrator) & N+ (Network Engineer). Sheikh Ebrahim lectured at a college for a year in Network Engineering in Durban, South Africa, before deciding to migrate to the U.K.

On arriving in the U.K., Sheik Ebrahim pursued business interests and became the Sales Director of a nursing recruitment agency that won the Virgin & Sunday Times Fast track award and has been a successful businessman with several successful ventures to his name. He currently owns a successful Medical Recruitment Firm.

Qari Ebrahim is proficient in the correct method of reciting Al Quran. He is qualified to teach hifdh and to teach separate Qiraat courses. Qari Ebrahim is looking to introduce Arabic (spoken and written courses) into the curriculum at the school. This would allow students to better understand the Quran and its meaning.

IQRA Arabic School has been meticulous in ensuring all the teachers are fully compliant with current enhanced CRB’s and DBS checks on all teachers. All of the teachers undergo mandatory courses which include child safety courses and Basic Life Support courses.

We are also fully insured and operate a transparent schooling system that welcomes scrutiny at any stage.
